Yeah put in some lovely balls. Would love to see a fit and raring to go Sakho on the end of some of that!

Feghouli looks to have a superb cross on him.

Completely agree that pre-season friendlies are way too over analysed these days. I remember back in the day looking in the paper at the friendly results and that was it. Unless you were there you wouldn't even know who scored as Teletext rarely covered them.

Besides which, the only really solid, decent pre-season I recall was under Avram Grant and look what happened that season. Historically we have always had a below-par pre-season...it's part of our fabric. I love it.

Oh yeah, cheers. Wasn't anything there when I looked this morning.

Is Fletcher a giant, or was everyone else near him when he scored a midget?

I've found out it was Burke no 32.
The idiots on Hammers Chat reckon Burke was fantastic yesterday. But I thought he looked below par late on. Might have been tiredness of course.

I hope Tomkins' sale doesn't come back to bite us in the arse. I still can't believe he's gone.

Anyone seen any decent highlights online?

Or even just half decent would do.

Wasn't Cullen no.32?

I only caught the last 15 minutes, so all I got to see was us fold like a knackered deck chair, but I take heart from the reports of the match as a whole. Feghouli was impressive in the states too, so he seems to be showing a level of consistency already.

It is all about fitness though, more than anything else, and I suppose these 5pm kick offs will help get used to running around in sweltering temperatures, which may well be the need in the Europey.

Anyone know who was wearing the 32 shirt last night?

I agree.

The problem we have is that, not only can we watch pre-season on TV, Sky sports are showing highlights of all pre-seasons and putting importance on the results.

When they provide the news of the pre-season result with something like "West Ham suffered a set back in pre-season with a defeat/draw etc..." it tells us we should be disappointed when we should all know by now that the results, especially at this stage, are not that important.

A set-back would be an injury at this stage and on that point I think we are doing ok.

Yes he was, with Burke.

Was Cullen the chap on loan to Bradford last season?

Early days for many, but we have a few youngsters who look to have superb potential.

I blame TV. People have to over analyse everything now days.

I would sort of understand if it was the last one, but it's the first game fro some players. No one got injured and a couple of the new boys looked decent. That's good enough for me.

Oh, and Josh CULLEN will replace the skipper.

I thought we did OK apart from going to sleep in the last five minutes. I'm not overly bothered about the first team players as all they want is fitness and will be holding back a little. Its a chance for the younger players to impress, the likes of Quina, Fletcher, Rice, Page, Burke and Cullen all looked decent. Byram did well at both right and left back. Out of the senior players Feghouli looked sharp.

Another one tonight at 5pm against Slavs old club Karlsruhe.

People take friendly results and performances far too seriously.

Main point is fitness.

The only thing that interests me in pre season games is what the new players look like. Results, formations etc don't mean anything until the first competitive game.
